High Intensity Gait Training at Home

How can you do high intensity gait training at home and without a treadmill?

It's all about getting your heart rate up and increasing your level of exertion.

Here are ways to try to do that:

  • Walk without an assistive device

  • Walk with resistance (whether your therapist is pulling from behind or you are pushing something)

  • Walk uphill

DO NOT attempt these exercises without your doctor’s approval or with therapist present to monitor your response to exercise.
