How to Properly Fit a Walker

We often see people with borrowed walkers that aren’t quite the right height. A proper fit makes a huge difference in comfort, safety, and even how much energy it takes to walk.

Adjust Your Walker in 3 Steps

Step 1. Stand in the middle of the walker and let your hands rest comfortably by your side.

Step 2. The hand grips on the top of the walker should line up with your wrist. If the grips are too high/ low, you will need to adjust the walker by adjusting each leg.

Step 3. Raise/lower the height of the walker to match the height of your wrists. Make sure they’re all at the same height when you’re done.

Ashley shares more details in this quick video showing how to properly fit a walker.
